Workshop Focus:

Is your research work focused on South Asia context? Are you aiming for getting it published in top tier management and international business journals? If the answer to these questions is “yes” then this workshop is for you.

Academy of International Business South Asia Chapter (AIB -SAC) is pleased to host workshop on ‘Publishing South Asia Focused Research in Top Management and International Business Journals’. The workshop will beconducted by world leading scholars Professor Ravi Ramamurti and Professor Surender Munjal.

Each professor will talk about his experience publishing South Asia research in top Management and International Business journals. The workshop will include a deep dive into one such article published by each professor. It will conclude with a Q&A about the challenges of conducting and publishing such research.

Target Audience:

PhD Students and Faculty members who are interested in publishing their work in top management and international business journals

Workshop Schedule:

SATURDAY, JULY 20,2024, 4.30PM – 7.30PM  IST

The sessions will be delivered as Live Online over the Zoom platform. Given the online session, participants must be equipped with the requisite level of Internet connectivity. Participants are also required to turn the video on during the session as this helps to create a learning environment that is quite similar to a face-to-face class.

WORKSHOP LEADER

Professor Ravi Ramamurti

Professor Ravi Ramamurti is University Distinguished Professor of International Business & Strategy and Founding Director of the Center for Emerging Markets at Northeastern University. He got his MBA from IIM-Ahmedabad (gold medallist) and his DBA from Harvard University.

He studies strategy and innovation in emerging markets. Ravi has been a visiting professor at Harvard Business School, the Wharton School, MIT-Sloan School, the Fletcher School, CEIBS-Shanghai, and IMD-Switzerland. He was elected a Fellow of the Academy of International Business in 2008 and has served as Deputy Dean of the AIB Fellows (2020-2023). His nine books include three published by Cambridge University Press on the internationalization of emerging-market firms, and one published by HBR Press on reverse innovation in healthcare. A Stanford study includes Ravi among the Top-2% of all scientists in the world based on citations, and he is among the top-5 most cited scholars working on emerging markets. Ravi has studied or consulted with dozens of public and private firms in 20 emerging economies, and has been a consultant to several international organizations, including serving as chief consultant to the World Bank’s board on its privatization strategy in developing countries.

Professor Surender Munjal

Professor Surender Munjal is Professor of International Business at Aston Business School. Prior to joining Aston, he was Professor of International Business and Management at Leeds University Business School. He is a visiting Professor at university of Pavia (Italy) and University of Salamanca (Spain). Professor Munjal is a world leading scholar on emerging markets. He was ranked 9th most prolific authors on the internationalization of Indian multinational enterprises. He has published over 50 peer reviewed journal articles in the top tier IB, economics and management journals, notably Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of World Business, British Journal of Economics, International  Management, Cambridge Journal of Business Review, Journal of Business Research, Journal of International Management, and Management International Review. He is an editorial board member of several IB journals. Professor Munjal has guest edited 3 special issues and contributed extensively to the growth of the Indian Academy of Management and Academy of International Business UK & Ireland chapter and South Asia chapter.
