RESEARCH SKILLS IN INTERNATIONAL MARKETING

Workshop Focus:

In this workshop, Prof. G. Shainesh will share insights from his international academic career spanning over three decades, drawing on specific examples from his own research journey. He will highlight best practices and proven pathways to achieving success in:

  • Conducting high-quality research in international marketing and related domains
  • Publishing papers in top international journals
  • Supervising doctoral students effectively
  • Developing sustainable academic and industry partnerships

     

The session is designed to be highly interactive. Participants are welcome to share their own experiences, challenges, and aspirations, so that the group can collectively learn from diverse perspectives and identify practical strategies to overcome common obstacles in building a strong research profile.

Citing concrete examples from his 30+ years in academia, Prof. Shainesh will also address issues such as choosing research topics with global relevance, positioning work for leading journals, navigating the review process, and balancing teaching, research, and service responsibilities

 

Target Audience:

This workshop is intended for:

  • PhD students who are interested in pursuing research in International Business and International Marketing
  • Faculty members who wish to strengthen their research capabilities and publication record in these areas

The session will be particularly valuable for scholars at the early and mid stages of their academic careers who are looking to build a coherent, impactful research agenda in international marketing.

The sessions will be delivered as Live Online over the Zoom platform. Given the online session, participants must be equipped with the requisite level of Internet connectivity. Participants are also required to turn the video on during the session as this helps to create a learning environment that is quite similar to a face-to-face class.

WORKSHOP LEADER

Professor G Shainesh

Professor G Shainesh has over three decades of research and teaching experience in India and abroad. He has conducted collaborative research and teaching assignments at the University of Gothenburg (Sweden), University of St. Gallen (Switzerland), HEC Paris, Audencia Nantes and IESEG (France), Vienna University and MCI Innsbruck (Austria), Bocconi University (Milan), Curtin University of Technology (Perth) and the American University of Armenia (Yerevan). His research and teaching focus on Digital Marketing Strategies, CRM, Services Marketing and Service Innovations. At IIMB, Shainesh has served as Dean – Administration (2014-17), Chair – Executive Education (2020-23), Chair – EPGP (2013-14) and Chair – Student Exchange Program (2006-09). He serves the Boards of the Academy of International Business – South Asia Chapter(AIB-SAC) as the Vice Chair and the International Sustainable Development Research Society (ISDRS)
